‘ADIRVALAI BIMBANGAL’ { shadows & emotions }

A story that relates straight to the emotions of woman. The intellectuals say that the depth of the ocean and profundity of woman's heart is unknown. The same was virtually depicted in the play 'ADIRVALAI BIMBANGAL' by the team of Karpanai Kudirai.

Meghana (Kala Nair) the heroine who is portrayed as Khalanayika is shown as shrewd woman who is also an opportunist. She is married to Agniputra (Anbuselvan) who is the son of King Chandrashekhar's second wife. He is so much in love with his wife that he has surrendered his individuality to her. He obeys her orders and treats her like a queen as he's in total adoration with her dance. But Meghana conveys all all her message through her Sevaki (Krithika) who is actually the mouth piece of Meghana.

King Vasudevan (Janakiraman) allures Meghana knowing that she is a married woman.

Prince Shantakumaran (Datta Prasad) son of King Charndrashekhar though in love with Meghana, in thirst for power is forced to marry Ranjani who kills herself on hearing a rumour about her husband's death. She dies blaming Meghana for her death.

King Chadrashekhar wants Prince Shantakumar to marry King Vasudevan's sister Rukmini (ShriDhivya) which of course is never going to happen as Meghana is still love with Prince Shantakumar.

All the three men treat her as a puppet for their convenience. She becomes shrewd as she cannot forget the love of her life Shantakumar. She cannot love another man who wants her as a wife only for a cause. She cannot see another woman with a man who she is still in love with.

The story written and directed by Vedarun Rajkumar who proved his artistry in choosing the right artists for the varied roles which again was brought out with complete perfection. Hypocrisy, vengeance, gossip, rumours is all a part of a girl life and she is an artiste then she is held tight in the loop holes of the worlds dirty hands. This was clearly shown I this historic play. Dance and music spinner around the scenes and that was the icing on the cake.

The art work done by Shimoga Rakesh was commendable as each and every scene though with minute changes was very much evident and artistic.

The whole play revolved around recorded and live music which was beautifully assembled by Music Composer Raman Sankaran. Two songs were composed by Deepika and Janakiraman. All the songs were melodious in the voice of Deepika.
The background score and accompaniment in Veena was rendered melodiously by Deepika Paramashivan. The live orchestra team with Raman (violin), Venkatasubramanian (flute), Pradeep (keyboard), Ganesh (tabla and drums)and Deepika (vocals) were excellent with flawless in rendition of Raagams and Thanams.

All the on screen artistes were fantastic at their roles and kept the full house crowd crunched to their seats till the end of the play.

The recorded vocals and the percussions though were very feeble the recording quality could have been improved as the classicism of the play was very high hence such pretty mistakes could be avoided.
